Table Tablets & Self-Service

Set Up a Fixed Table Tablet or Optional Counter Kiosk

Start with the popular fixed-table setup, then use kiosk mode only where a counter genuinely benefits from self-service.

10 minBest for: Operators and IT support

Step 1

Verified starting point

Enable Tablet Ordering or Kiosk in the branch, save, then use Open Tablet Menu or Open Kiosk in the dashboard header.

  • A tablet first asks you to Pin a table from the predefined table list
  • A kiosk starts with Touch to order, then asks Dine In or Takeaway

Step 2

Enable the intended device mode

Open Branches, select the branch, and use Ordering Modes. For a device fixed to a dining table, enable Tablet Ordering and select Save. Enable Kiosk only for a shared counter or floor self-ordering device; it is a different guest journey.

  • Start with table tablets when seated browsing and repeat orders are the priority
  • Do not enable a mode until staff can recognize its incoming orders

Step 3

Configure tables and open the device URL

Select Manage Tables and add the real table numbers or labels. Open the fixed device at Open Tablet Menu from the dashboard header and pin the device to a predefined table on first launch using the branch slug and configured table number. A kiosk uses Open Kiosk from the dashboard header. Lock the browser or device to the correct URL.

  • Give each table device its own table number
  • Provide continuous power and prevent guest access to browser settings

Step 4

Run the launch test

Restart the device, switch language, order an item with modifiers, and confirm the correct table and order type reach the live staff queue. Test sold-out updates, idle reset, a lost connection, cleaning, charging, and the staff-assisted fallback.

  • Pilot a small table group before the whole floor
  • Write the device URL and recovery steps for opening staff

Common questions

Is a table tablet the same as a kiosk?

No. A table tablet is assigned to one dining table. A kiosk is a shared self-ordering point and asks for the relevant fulfillment journey.
