Set Up a Live Order Status Board

Give waiting guests a clear, privacy-conscious view of orders moving toward pickup.

8 minBest for: Counter and expo teams

Step 1

Open the correct public board

Select the branch in the dashboard header and choose Open Order Board. DashDine opens the branch-specific /board screen with Preparing and Ready to collect columns.

  • Do not use the POS customer display URL for this guide
  • The KDS is a separate authenticated kitchen workspace

Step 2

Prepare the display

Open the board on the customer-facing monitor, put the browser in full-screen mode, and tap Sound off — tap to turn on if audible ready alerts are required. Keep customer contact details and internal production screens out of view.

  • Select the branch before opening the shortcut
  • Test font size and visibility from the collection area

Step 3

Verify the live status flow

Submit a controlled test order through an enabled channel and move it through the normal kitchen workflow. Confirm its public reference appears under Preparing and moves to Ready to collect at the intended status.

  • Check that another branch’s orders do not appear
  • Repeat the test after a browser restart and network reconnect

Common questions

Is the customer display the kitchen screen?

No. The customer display communicates public collection status. Kitchen and runner work is handled through the live Runner/KDS surfaces.
