Direct ordering gives the restaurant its own route

A branded ordering link lets customers order from the restaurant without downloading an app. The restaurant controls the menu, availability, fulfilment choices and customer experience. DashDine does not charge an order commission on these direct orders. A payment gateway may still charge its normal processing or settlement fee.

Keep marketplaces for the job they do well

A direct channel does not require leaving every delivery marketplace. Marketplaces can introduce a restaurant to new customers. The direct link is especially useful for repeat customers who already know the brand and want pickup, curbside or restaurant-managed delivery.

Set up the full order path

Publish accurate items, prices and modifiers. Configure pickup, curbside or delivery rules for each branch, including zones and fees where relevant. Open a service session, choose manual or automatic approval and test how the order reaches the kitchen. Configure a supported online gateway only after the merchant account is approved.

Put the link where customers return

Add the direct link to the restaurant website, Google Business Profile, social profiles, receipts, packaging and QR material. Use one clear message such as “Order direct for pickup.” Do not hide whether delivery is handled by the restaurant or another service.

Measure useful outcomes

Track completed orders, failed checkout, preparation time and repeat direct customers. Compare contribution margin after payment, packaging and delivery costs rather than counting traffic alone. See direct online ordering with DashDine.

Commission-free does not mean cost-free

A direct channel can avoid a software percentage on each order, but the restaurant still pays for ingredients, labor, packaging, payment processing and delivery. Compare contribution after those costs. DashDine charges no commission on direct orders; subscription and provider fees remain separate.

Decide who fulfils delivery

Pickup stays at the restaurant. Delivery needs an area, fee, minimum, promise and person or partner responsible for the trip. Do not advertise delivery merely because checkout collects an address. If drivers are managed elsewhere, document dispatch and final status. DashDine is not a marketplace or rider-management service.

Build trust on the page

Show the correct restaurant, branch, contact details, fulfilment choices, prices and availability. Explain whether payment is online or at handoff. Give a useful confirmation and tracking state. A returning customer should not need to guess whether the direct link is official.

Launch to returning customers first

Start with staff and a small group of regular guests. Put the link on receipts, packaging and owned profiles. Keep marketplaces where they provide discovery, and avoid a savings claim unless the real offer supports it.

Watch the full funnel

Measure visits, started carts, submitted and accepted orders, failed payments, completed handoffs and repeat customers. Investigate where a channel loses real orders instead of celebrating clicks. A small reliable direct channel can be more valuable than large untargeted traffic.
