Waiting for the bill is the slowest part of the meal
Guests finish eating. Then they wave for the bill, wait, and wait again for the card machine. The table stays full, and the next guests wait at the door.
What a QR payment link is
A payment link is a page where a guest pays for their order. The link asks for the exact amount still due. The guest opens it with their phone and pays by card.
In DashDine, each order can have one payment link. Guests can open it:
- From their own order page, if they ordered by QR
- From a QR code printed on the bill
- From the customer screen at the counter
- From a link that staff share
Where the money goes
The money goes to your restaurant's own payment account. DashDine does not hold your money. DashDine checks every payment with your payment provider before it marks the order paid.
If you want to connect your preferred payment provider in Qatar, talk to our team.
What if the payment fails?
Then the order is not marked paid. The guest can simply try again with a fresh payment.
Cash and card still work
Paying by phone is optional. Many guests will still pay cash or use your card machine. Staff record those payments in DashDine POS or the waiter app, as usual.
How to start
- Open a merchant account with a supported payment provider in your restaurant's name.
- Connect it in DashDine.
- Turn on payment links for the branch.
- Test one payment yourself before you tell guests.
Tips for a smooth start
- Tell your team first. Staff should know how to share the link and how to check if an order is paid.
- Print the QR on the bill. Guests who wait for the bill can pay the moment it arrives.
- Use the customer screen at the counter. Takeaway guests can scan and pay there.
- Keep the card machine ready. Some guests will always prefer it.
Questions owners ask
Can a guest pay only part of the bill? The link always asks for the amount still due on the order. If part was already paid, the link asks only for the rest.
Do I need an app or new hardware? No. Guests use their own phone's browser. You only need your merchant account and DashDine.
What it costs
Your payment provider charges its own fees under your agreement with them. DashDine takes no commission on your orders. Compare the fee with the time your staff save by not walking the card machine from table to table.
Is it safe for guests?
Guests pay on your payment provider's secure page, not on your menu page. DashDine then checks every payment with your provider before the order shows as paid. If anything does not match, the order stays unpaid and your team can look into it.
