The problem: one tablet per app
Many restaurants in Qatar take orders from Talabat, Snoonu, Keeta and Rafeeq. Each app comes with its own tablet. Soon the counter is full of screens, and every screen beeps.
The kitchen then works from several lists. Orders get missed, and cooks ask the counter what is next.
The fix: one queue for the kitchen
The kitchen should see one list. Counter orders, table orders, kiosk orders, online orders and delivery-app orders should all sit in the same place, in the order they arrived.
How it works in DashDine
DashDine does not import delivery-app orders automatically. Instead, the cashier enters each app order in DashDine POS. It takes a few seconds:
- In the POS, choose the order source. For example, Talabat.
- Add the dishes, with their options and notes.
- Enter the platform order reference. You can make this reference required for a branch.
- Send the order. It goes to the kitchen screen with the app name on it.
The kitchen now sees every order in one queue. Each order shows where it came from.
Set up your platforms first
In DashDine HQ, open Branches, choose the branch and open Ordering platforms. Turn on the apps you use there.
What you gain
- One list for the kitchen, so fewer missed orders
- The app name on every order, so the right bag goes to the right driver
- Reports that include delivery-app sales
- A Z-report that shows every order, not only counter sales
A tip for busy times
When orders pile up, use pause. Pausing stops new orders from your own channels while the kitchen catches up. Remember to also pause in each delivery app if you need to.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Entering the order late. Enter each app order as soon as it arrives, so the kitchen sees it in the right place in the queue.
- Choosing the wrong source. Pick the right app every time. Your reports depend on it.
- Skipping the reference. The platform reference helps you find the order if the app or the guest asks about it later. Make it required if your team forgets.
- Forgetting the payment. Confirm the platform payment, so the order does not stay unpaid in your Z-report.
How long does it take to set up?
Turning on your platforms takes a few minutes. Training a cashier to enter app orders usually takes one shift. After that, the kitchen works from one list, and the counter is calmer.
